Brno lives on Veveří
Roubalová, Lucie ; Kaštánková, Jana (referee) ; Františák, Luboš (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the revitalization of Veveří street in Brno, restoration of public spaces, addition of transport links, solving the issue of parking on the surface and underground, the creation of pedestrian routes, the urban concept of the completion of the city block and the architectural design of selected multifunctional buildings. The new development provides functions such as housing, office spaces or services and contributes to the renewal of social life in the area.
Multipurpose Town House on Křížová Street, Brno
Souček, Michal ; Kynčl, Jakub (referee) ; Ruller, Ivan (advisor)
The aim of this Diploma Thesis was the design of multipurpose town house located on Křížová Street, Brno with the significant housing part, but also with areas for administration offices and commercial use. The project focuses on new attempt and concept of inner part of the block, as well as on connection into the existing historical urban structure. A new multi-storey monolithic house with seven floors and glass façade was designed. Commercial area is located in the parterre of the house, second floor is used for offices and the roof (7th floor) gives attractive place for a café. The rest of the house (3rd to 6th floor) has a dwelling purpose. Diploma Thesis copes with the function of yard and underground parking place, as well.
Multifunctional house Prudký - construction technology project
Kaláb, Ondřej ; Valenta, Michal (referee) ; Biely, Boris (advisor)
The aim of this Diploma Thesis is constructionally - technological solution of the rough construction of polyfunctional house on the corner of Bánskobystrická and Medlánecká streets in Brno Řečkovice. In the Diploma Thesis I will deal with the plan of the work procedure of the execution of roof construction layers, machine sets, itemized budget, construction schedule, construction site equipment, inspection and testing plan, ecology and transport relations related to the construction. I would like to point out the complication of the construction with a lack of space because the construction is in the area of Brno Řečkovice. The plan of construction execution was more difficult due to lack of space for storage of materials and machinery handling.

Flow and diffusion characteristics inside the urban area

Title: Flow and diffusion characteristics inside the urban area Author: Hana Chaloupecká Department: Department of meteorology and enviroment protection Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Zbyněk Jaňour, DrSc., IT AS CR, v. v. i. Supervisor's e - mail: janour@it.cas.cz Abstract: Uniqueness of different towns, consists of various shapes of buildings. The main topic of this work is to compare concentration diffusion within groups of buildings of various types. We pursued houses made of single blocks of two different lengths - they were placed parallel or in courtyards. For research of pollution diffusion within the housing estates a method of physical modelling has been used. For this purpose we summarized a theory of atmospheric boundary layer and physical modelling at first. Then we pursued experiments. Measuring took place in a model in scale 1 : 300 inside an aerodynamic wind tunnel of the Institute of Thermomechanics AS in Nový Knín. We checked out the requirements placed on similarity of the real boundary layer and boundary layer modelled in the tunnel. By the measuring of concentration in urban areas we weren't watching a plume from the pollution source but we were studying an inversion task. We measured concentrations in two fixed points from different point sources inside the defined areas. A sensitivity of...
The developement of urban build-up area and urban infrastructure in Benešov in the years 1918-1939
Roubík, Michal ; Jakubec, Ivan (advisor) ; Sejk, Michal (referee)
In my diploma thesis "The Development of Urban Build-up Area and Urban Infrastructure in Benešov in the Years 1918 - 1939", I explore one chapter in the development of a small agricultural town during the era of the First Czechoslovak Republic. This thesis is a contribution to the history of Czech towns during the interwar period and its topic corresponds to the research project of the Institute of Economic and Social History at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague, within the frame of which I worked on this thesis. The thesis was written mainly based on research of the resources in the State District Archives in Benešov (a branch office of the State Regional Archives in Prague) and of a wide range of relevant specialized literature. The introduction consists of a chapter offering a complex summary of the most important moments and changes in the development of Benešov during the examined period. Apart from the history of Benešov, it also shows the role of the town in the region and the relation of its development to other municipalities in the country. The focal point of the thesis lays in the extensive yet lucid chapters examining architectural development of the town (the essential moments, context, but also particular interesting buildings) and the development of its infrastructure...
Microscale flow and diffusion characteristics inside the urban area
Kukačka, Libor
Title: Microscale flow and diffusion characteristics inside the urban area Author: Libor Kukačka Department: Department of meteorology and enviroment protection Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Zbyněk Jaňour, DrSc., IT AS CR, v.v.i. Supervisor's e-mail address: janour@it.cas.cz Abstract: Dispersion of pollutants in the atmosphere of urban areas is the important task in environmental sciences. The main goal was the quantitative studying of a flow in a symmetrical urban built-up area depending on a running on flow direction. There was given a theoretical base of the physical modelling of the atmospheric boundary layer in this work. The measurement was done with a model of the urban build-up area at a scale of 1:200 in the aerodynamic wind tunnel of the IT AS CR, v.v.i. in Nový Knín. The requirements to the similarity to a real atmospheric boundary layer and a model boundary layer in the wind tunnel were accomplished. Velocity fields, concentration fields and fields of scalar fluxes were measured in the area of a rectangular intersection. Results of the experiment showed significant sensitivity of the velocity field about the running on flow direction that extensively influenced ventilation of street canyons. Keywords: air pollution, atmospheric boundary layer, physical modelling, dispersion of passive contaminant,...
Návrh městské galerie v Ústí nad Orlicí
Dryml, Aleš
The thesis is elaborated by calls for use of the old complex area called Perla 01 in the center of Ústí nad Orlicí. Among to the planned investment projects of town is building a new gallery. The work is focuses on the choice of suitable location in the area. Also architectural appearance and justify the choice of main construction materials. For the purposes of civic amenities building is designed for and other facilities necessary for gallery operation. For final design of gallery is as an implementation tool project documentation and visualization of the building. The pivotal part consists structural analysis of the skeleton structure and suitable design all supporting elements. Work includes price valuation assessment and calculation thermal coefficients of building envelope construction.
